[L4L] J'aime Paris

4th Feb 2012.

Today our journey inside Paris actually begins.

For the first stop,

we went to the Basilique du Sacre-coeur (Sacred Heart)

It's a Roman-Byzantine Church.

There's also a nice view from there as it's located at the top of Butte Montmartre. A hill.

Next, we went to the Arc de Triomphe.

It's a monument for the military victories of Napoleon.

To get in the museum there's a fee. So we just take a few snapshot.

Then, Eiffel Tower!

Yesterday we went there at night where the temperature is minus minus.

Today we went there in the afternoon!

So the temperature is just nice.

Not too cold.

From there, we heads for the Statue of Liberty in France.

It's just less than 20minutes walks away from the Eiffel Tower.

Why there's an underline on my sentences above?

Then, we went to Notre Dame.

I bet everyone knows the tales of the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

It's a Cathedral with Gothic's Decorations.

We went inside.

And it was so..scary.

We went to see some souvenirs,

and everywhere we goes,

Amin asks the price for the shirt "I heart Paris"

Almost all stores sells for 10 euro each.

tch.

Musee de Louvre is our next stop.

There, lies the Pyramides of France.

(Illuminaties)

Then,

We visited the Mosque of France.

When we got there, It was closed.

It's quite a remarkable building, built between houses.

The cold night makes us slept uncomfortably.

Finally we were well awake at Fajr.

After Fajr,

We make our step to the Train Station.

Our Rendezvous point with our tour guide in Paris is at Gare de Lyon.

yes in Paris, we want to rest our mind after a long tiring week at Spain so we hired a Tourist guide.xD

Our tourist guide in Paris is Amin.

A Junior back in School.

And now he's studying in Paris.

So from Gare de Lyon,

We went to the nearest Bank to withdraw some cash.

And then we decided to check in to our Hotel.(yes Hotel.no more hostel)

but.

it wasn't the check in time.

So we left our bags there

and heads straight to..

DisneyLand!

We got a discount to get inside via Amin's pass-something.

So we were enjoying ourselves there with soo many ride.

But we didn't rides all.

But the ones that will not be forgotten was The Hotel Tower and Nemo.

It was Fun!

Then we went to Ville d'Europe.

It's an outlet shopping district.

So we went window shopping.

After a long day,

we went to Chateau d'eau.

There's a lot of Halal Restaurant.

Among the many restaurant,

we chose a Kebap Shop.again.

Then we took a metro to Trocadero.

To see the famous Eiffel Tower at night.

And it was Superb!

plus Freezing!

And that's all for today.

We went back to the Hotel at 11.

[L4L] Stranded, Station, Airport, Hungry.

2nd Feb 2012

"exhausted."

Today,

we feel more of the backpackers spirit.

Our bus from Cordoba back to Madrid is at 1a.m.

So we get there as early as 10pm.

Thats 3hour waiting helplessly at Cordoba Autobuses Estacion.

Our journey back to Madrid takes around 5hour as we arrived to Madrid Autobuses Estacion at 6.a.m.

Again, we stranded there.

Our next stop is Paris, France.

To get there,

we're using low-cost flight.

Our flight will be at 8.35p.m.

From 6a.m. to 10p.m. we were at the bus station.

Everyone exhausted.

Some sleeping, others searching for souvenirs at the station,,

At 10,

after everyone found back their hopes and spirit to continue the journey,

we set straight to the airport.

The trip took around an hour via train.

So now,

we're at the Madrid-Baragas Airport.

For our flight to Paris.

Unfortunately,

our flight to Paris has been delayed,

So thats make another hour of waiting.

At 9.40 p.m our flight began boarding.

The flight took around 2hour.

Finally,

we arrived at CDG Airport of Paris.

For saving purposes,

we decided to sleep for a night at the airport.

The night was cold.

So now,

we're in Paris, France.

[L4L] Cordoba, how you've fallen

Bismillah,

Salam to all,

today our journey began early in the morning in order to buy a bus ticket to Medina Azzahra.

but sadly, they ticket were already sold out for today.

Instead, we went to the Mezquita-Cathedral,

Oh by the way,

Cordoba.

It was the center for the Umayyad Caliphate once.

but now, it sad to see how it transformed.

If in Istanbul, you'll see a cathedral changed into a mosque,

but in spain, you'll see a mosque, once a huge influential mosque (Mosque of Cordoba) changed into a cathedral.

Admission is free between 8-10 a.m.

Then,

we went to the Callahora tower.

There we learned the history of Cordoba, the Mosque and little more about alhambra.

What's its like under the ruling of caliphate.

"not much left, only ruins"

Then, we took a taxi to Madina Al-Zahra,

There we see the lost city of caliphate Abdul Rahman 3.

It's still under excavation.

We make ourself busy in the evening by walking around the city,

buyings souvenir and so.

Have a little Tortilla de Patata for lunch+dineer.

Until night,

we went back to our hostel to take our bags,

and began preparing for our bus back to Madrid.

[L4L] Granada Day's off

Today, we're still in Granada.

Supposedly, today is our day again visiting Zara boutique, but we already went there twice.

The first was in Madrid and the second was yesterday.

So here we are in our cheap hostel (but it really worth a lot more Euro)

named Las Arrayanes, try it.

Ok here's a tip.

*The hostels which are not listed in the famous website and did not accept credit card usually are much more cheaper*

But the disadvantages are they maybe can't speak English, but it's a great opportunity to learn their language.

So today most of our time wasted on souvenir shopping session,

though we didn't buy anything much,

exploring some more Granada's street,

went around the nueva plaza,

have some kebap,

and Arif found another smooy shop.=.=

In the evening,

we took a bus to the Bus Station to catch our bus to Cordoba.

Oh yeah before that,

Arif and me got to taste Curros y Chocolate,

it resembles a cakoi (back in Malaysia) dip with hot chocolate.

anyway,

Cordoba here we come!
