[L4L] Munich the fake city.

10 Feb,
Today we start our day with a free city tour trip prepared by our hostel,
We can't afford to miss any free stuff!(well except for the free 4shots offered by the hostel of course)

The tour start at 10.45 at Marientplatz.
First our tour guide explained about the 2nd most overrated tourist attraction in Europe which is the Neues Rothaus.
Every 1 hour, you can hear the bell's sound and the statue below it will dance.

It was quite an experience!

Bavarian army was the worst army in the world-just saying, our tour guide said it.
They had no weapon, the only weapon they had was their beer mug.
Oh by the way, Germany is famous for it's beer.

Next we went to St Peter Church and some more history were poured, and I dont r
emember it well..
But some thing I do learn from the tour is that the city of Munich you see now is a FAKE!
Why?

Because it was rebuilt.
Before Munich was bombed in WW2,
They have asked all the photograper to take photos of all the details of the city.
All.
and they store it at the bunker.
And after Munich was destroyed, and the Germans takes control back,
They rebuilt the city like it was before.
Man, I can't write all the story our tour guide told us, but it was really exciting to know the
history of Munich itself.

After that,
we went to the ViktualientMarkt,
where the townspeople from earlier days buys food and stuff but now the price is skyrocket high and high quality stuff are sold.
Next we went to the city hall where the famous "Night of the Broken Glass" happened.
It's related to the murder of European's Jews by Hitler.
I won't write more.

Besides it,
there's a famous Julliette Statue where people rubs the statue for good fortune.
pfft.

And we can't follow on the next tour,
As our feet are frozen cold and it's already noon.
Gotta find a mosque for Jumaat Prayer!
Finally,
We went for solat Jumaat in Munich in a building above a kebap shop.
The khutbah was in Turkish,
and we saw a lot of people,
from Turkish, Pakistani, Indians, even Germans.

Then,
we went to a Pakistani restaurant for all you can eat buffet!

After a while,
everyone started to settle down in the hostel.
The event now is free,
so everyone seems to go to their own direction.
Some went for souvenirs,
Some went for Chocolates,
Some went for handbags.
Some went for coffee.

Oh yeah a combination of Butterbretzel with a cup of 1euro Coffee really kicks up in this
weather!

Cappadocia Tour

8 February
2nd day at Cappadocia.
Today we have a chance to ride the hot air ballon which is famous in Cappadocia.

buttttt.....
The fee ticket was so expensive we thought we'll just look upon the sky and see it flies.
Instead we went for a paid-tour around Gerome
This is the first ever we broke our oath as a backpackers-getting a tour guide.
Yeah we've been in 3 different countries without any paid-help
but now.we need help?
Rationally, in Cappadocia you will really need a tour guide to take you around and so on.
We went to see some wonderful chimney view, Pigeon Valley, went hiking down the Ihlara Valley,
Visiting ancient church, crawling inside the underground city and more.

And we also met some friends from Japan, Korea, China, United States and more.
But Manabo from Japan will be the one to remember.

We start at morning and finished around 6pm.
Our hotel which where we stay-The Flinstone hotel care enough to buy us ticket back to Istanbul.
It was quite difficult to decide to go back to Istanbul as some of us still wants to go adventure
around Antalya-Izmer-Pammukale...but we had to listen to what our leader said rght?
and it's mostly about our ticket back to Malaysia (we still dont have one)
So, as the sun set we took our 11hour journey back to Istanbul.
and we dont regret it.

Koftah at Bulgaria.

Sofia 2nd Day.
2nd February.
We woke up early to get some breakfast downstairs.
Then we checked out.
but of course we can leave our luggage there for a while.
First,
we went to the Archeological Museum which was formerly a Mosque.
Faiz found it interesting but most found it boring.
Then, We went to see the "ladies Market"
we thought it was market for souvenirs.
We thougt wrong.
It was really a market for ladies.
Where they sell Veges, fruits and so.
But after that we found another halal restaurant,
Hosted by a Syrian.
Wow it was the first time we ate Meat on our journey.
And we didn't stop at one plate,
We ordered another one.

After full,
We went shopping at the subway.
We met Sylvana the salesgirl
and buy some souvenirs.
Faiz bought his huge Soviet hat there.

Then,
we went for Solat at Banya Bashi Mosque again because it was the only mosque there.
Then we went back to the hotel to take our backpacks
and said bye to Nini, Damien and others as we walk out of the door.

it was an hour from our bus depart time.
and it was a chaotic hour.
First, we took a tram.
And..we dont know where to stop.
So we just stop somewhere, and noticed it wasn't the Bus Station.
Time's running out
We walked-trying to find miracle.
And it was getting far lost.
We asked some locals and they said we were heading in wrong direction.
Everyone started to panic.
Only few were calm.

We took taxi.
3 taxi.
seperated from each other.
half an hour till departure time.
In the taxi,
we noticed how far we were from the bus station.
Luckily we were on time.
And everyone safely arrived.

We get into the bus.
and start our 9hour journey from Sofia to Istanbul.

Last Day at Athens

I'm sorry for being late in reporting the event.
But here goes.

31 January 2011,
At early 9.00 a.m we visited the Pananthinaikos Stadium.
At first, we thought it was a footbal Stadium for the club Pananthinaikos FC,
But it happened to be the first Olympic Stadium to be held.
The Stadium was surprisingly in a half shape.
half-oval as it consist of only a racing track.

Then we went to get some souvenir again.
It was quite appealing as we start to bargain.
At Egypt only some of them can talk in English,
and their English was also not quite good.
But here, I love to hear their accent of speaking. Greek-Style.
Even so, I miss my days bargaining with the Arabs.

So,Today was our last day in Athens,
Lots of memory to be hold,
Lots of things to be remember.
Our laughter and depression.

"I was in Athens"

As we wants to get a train to Larissa
We were shocked to see the Metro station was closed due to strike by the employee.
So we need to find other way
Faiz Kamil Afifi and Afiq helplessly trying to ask the locals on how to take the bus to Larissa.
okay. For your information the people here in greece aren't very friendly.
but not all of them.
And they people are also surprisingly scarce.
Only 11 million compare to Malaysia 27 million,
told the locals nearby named 'Petrous'

Finally we managed to take a bus to Larissa.
There, we surveyed some ticket bus.
The train ticket was 48 Euro.
It was quite expensive.
So we take the bus for only 39 Euro.

We depart and said bye bye to Athens.
We'll never visit you again.haha
Nahh. because we have other places to go.
We depart at 5.30 pm
The journey took 12 hour to reach Sofia.

2.24 a.m
we were block by the immigration of Bulgaria because of our passport.
Alhamdulillah we managed to get through at 2.34 a.m.
And then.
Hello Bulgaria!
