[L4L] Munich the fake city.

10 Feb,
Today we start our day with a free city tour trip prepared by our hostel,
We can't afford to miss any free stuff!(well except for the free 4shots offered by the hostel of course)

The tour start at 10.45 at Marientplatz.
First our tour guide explained about the 2nd most overrated tourist attraction in Europe which is the Neues Rothaus.
Every 1 hour, you can hear the bell's sound and the statue below it will dance.

It was quite an experience!

Bavarian army was the worst army in the world-just saying, our tour guide said it.
They had no weapon, the only weapon they had was their beer mug.
Oh by the way, Germany is famous for it's beer.

Next we went to St Peter Church and some more history were poured, and I dont r
emember it well..
But some thing I do learn from the tour is that the city of Munich you see now is a FAKE!
Why?

Because it was rebuilt.
Before Munich was bombed in WW2,
They have asked all the photograper to take photos of all the details of the city.
All.
and they store it at the bunker.
And after Munich was destroyed, and the Germans takes control back,
They rebuilt the city like it was before.
Man, I can't write all the story our tour guide told us, but it was really exciting to know the
history of Munich itself.

After that,
we went to the ViktualientMarkt,
where the townspeople from earlier days buys food and stuff but now the price is skyrocket high and high quality stuff are sold.
Next we went to the city hall where the famous "Night of the Broken Glass" happened.
It's related to the murder of European's Jews by Hitler.
I won't write more.

Besides it,
there's a famous Julliette Statue where people rubs the statue for good fortune.
pfft.

And we can't follow on the next tour,
As our feet are frozen cold and it's already noon.
Gotta find a mosque for Jumaat Prayer!
Finally,
We went for solat Jumaat in Munich in a building above a kebap shop.
The khutbah was in Turkish,
and we saw a lot of people,
from Turkish, Pakistani, Indians, even Germans.

Then,
we went to a Pakistani restaurant for all you can eat buffet!

After a while,
everyone started to settle down in the hostel.
The event now is free,
so everyone seems to go to their own direction.
Some went for souvenirs,
Some went for Chocolates,
Some went for handbags.
Some went for coffee.

Oh yeah a combination of Butterbretzel with a cup of 1euro Coffee really kicks up in this
weather!

[L4L] The Freezing Zurich

7 Feb 2012

We start our day today with a formal breakfast of bread, butter, jam, coffee and hot chocolate.
Zurich is snowing from early in the morning.
We went outside to visit the tourist main attraction there.
Some museum, churhes, one of the biggest clock in Europe, Gate of hell and others.

"gate of hell"

"zurich Clock"

"Lake of Zurich"
Oh yeah,
we also went to one of the only 4 mosque in Swiss that have a minaret.
It is also one of the oldest
The Mahmud Moschee.
Which you can go there via Tram.

After a while, we went window-shopping and a couple of transaction happened.
We went to the famous Swatch store, Apple store, and some souvenirs shop.

"SWATCHESSSS"

At around 4 we went back to the hotel to pick up our bags.

We managed to get ourselves tasted the Originally Swiss-made the "mini burger".

Our nest stop is Regernsburg, Germany.
But before there, we had to hit Munich first.

Our train from Zurich is at 1910 at will be arriving at Munich at 0558 a day after.
We have to change train for a total of 4 times and it is quite exhausting.
So for the whole nigt someone will need to be awake in order not to miss any train!

[L4L] Granada Day's off

Today, we're still in Granada.
Supposedly, today is our day again visiting Zara boutique, but we already went there twice.
The first was in Madrid and the second was yesterday.
So here we are in our cheap hostel (but it really worth a lot more Euro)
named Las Arrayanes, try it.

Ok here's a tip.
*The hostels which are not listed in the famous website and did not accept credit card usually are much more cheaper*
But the disadvantages are they maybe can't speak English, but it's a great opportunity to learn their language.

So today most of our time wasted on souvenir shopping session,

though we didn't buy anything much,
exploring some more Granada's street,
went around the nueva plaza,
have some kebap,
and Arif found another smooy shop.=.=

In the evening,
we took a bus to the Bus Station to catch our bus to Cordoba.
Oh yeah before that,
Arif and me got to taste Curros y Chocolate,
it resembles a cakoi (back in Malaysia) dip with hot chocolate.

anyway,
Cordoba here we come!

edit-safely arrived in cordoba,
check in, and updating blog,
Tomorrow we'll explore Cordoba!

[Hi5] Pre-honeymoon in Venice

Ciao,
After leaning on a great leaning tower of Pisa, we went toVenice which is renowned for the beauty of its setting, its architecture andits artworks. Venice has been known as “La Dominante”, “City of water”, “Cityof Masks” “Floating city” & so many other names.

We checked in at Hotel Giovanni, perform our prayers andthere it is, we are in Venice city aka Venezia!
We walked through thealleyway and bridges across the Venice by our city guider Mr. Hanif Imran whileAsyraf drinking some milk shake, Afiq taking a lot of photos by his DSLR, Wawantaking videos & Amir…. ??? (looking for souvenirs maybe?)

Amir Fikri said that Venice is a romantic place for a coupleto enjoy themselves and make a finest honeymoon. But, we are a “Celibe group”hoping to go there for honeymoon.. hikhik ;)

Riding on Gondola, the classical Venetian boat is acompulsory for you if you go to Venice. Travel along the waterways &looking a splendid scenery.. not to forget a beautiful & awesome sunsetscenery.

At Rialto Bridge, we met some Chinese Malaysian studentlooking for souvenirs and recommended us to go to a shop that is reasonable andcheaper among other shops.

Then, we went back to our hotel by bus, but surprisingly wedon’t have a ticket. We thought that the driver sell the tickets as we boughtit first before we went to Venezia. So, we stopped the bus and continue ourjourney to our destination by walking .. TT

But then, finally we got to eat Italian Pizza.. Hoorayy!!
Back to our hotel, we have a good rest, deep sleep and begin our dream about Paris… zzzzzzz
