[L4L] Munich the fake city.

10 Feb,
Today we start our day with a free city tour trip prepared by our hostel,
We can't afford to miss any free stuff!(well except for the free 4shots offered by the hostel of course)

The tour start at 10.45 at Marientplatz.
First our tour guide explained about the 2nd most overrated tourist attraction in Europe which is the Neues Rothaus.
Every 1 hour, you can hear the bell's sound and the statue below it will dance.

It was quite an experience!

Bavarian army was the worst army in the world-just saying, our tour guide said it.
They had no weapon, the only weapon they had was their beer mug.
Oh by the way, Germany is famous for it's beer.

Next we went to St Peter Church and some more history were poured, and I dont r
emember it well..
But some thing I do learn from the tour is that the city of Munich you see now is a FAKE!
Why?

Because it was rebuilt.
Before Munich was bombed in WW2,
They have asked all the photograper to take photos of all the details of the city.
All.
and they store it at the bunker.
And after Munich was destroyed, and the Germans takes control back,
They rebuilt the city like it was before.
Man, I can't write all the story our tour guide told us, but it was really exciting to know the
history of Munich itself.

After that,
we went to the ViktualientMarkt,
where the townspeople from earlier days buys food and stuff but now the price is skyrocket high and high quality stuff are sold.
Next we went to the city hall where the famous "Night of the Broken Glass" happened.
It's related to the murder of European's Jews by Hitler.
I won't write more.

Besides it,
there's a famous Julliette Statue where people rubs the statue for good fortune.
pfft.

And we can't follow on the next tour,
As our feet are frozen cold and it's already noon.
Gotta find a mosque for Jumaat Prayer!
Finally,
We went for solat Jumaat in Munich in a building above a kebap shop.
The khutbah was in Turkish,
and we saw a lot of people,
from Turkish, Pakistani, Indians, even Germans.

Then,
we went to a Pakistani restaurant for all you can eat buffet!

After a while,
everyone started to settle down in the hostel.
The event now is free,
so everyone seems to go to their own direction.
Some went for souvenirs,
Some went for Chocolates,
Some went for handbags.
Some went for coffee.

Oh yeah a combination of Butterbretzel with a cup of 1euro Coffee really kicks up in this
weather!

[L4L] Germany and BMW

9 Feb 2012
Munich,
Day 1.

We arrived from Regernsburg at Munich around 1100 and went straight to check in the hostel.
As we got here we were surprised to see many( well kind of) women with hijab.
alhamdulillah.

After checking in,
We went straight to Bayern Munchen's home stadium!
at Frottmaning.

The Allianz Arena.
But the weather was so devastating the stadium looks closed,
So we just snap some picture outside the stadium.

Then we went to the English Garden,
In winter, The Garden is full of snow,
It's a white-fest everywhere!
We got to see the famous Chineese Tower there.

From there,
we took a train to Olympiazentrum to go to the Olympic Stadium.

"Olympic Tower"

Then,
the most awaited place to be seen,
The BMW Museum+Welt!

"2006 BMW Sauber Petronas F1"

The Museum was fun and architectural-brilliant!(not sure if it's correct)
The museum told us from the early beginning of the BMW history to the now modern BMW.

Then we went to the Welt.
There, we get to see many latest and great BMW model.

"Obsessed with X5"

After spending our time there until bored,
we went outside and it was blizzard.
we were freezing cold.

From there we went to Marientplatz to go sight seeing.
There's a lot of church there,
And there's a statue of Virgin Mary in the middle with many history behinds it.

And thats end our day trip for Munich today!

[L4L] The Historic land of Regernsburg

8 Feb 2012

Alhamdulillah,
We were soooo thankful,
we survived the challenge.
The 4hour-long stranded in negative temperature.
(thats another story)

Now we're in Munchen, Germany.

But no so fast!
We are heading to Regernsburg first to met Zaid,
Our friend who is currently studying in Germany in Engineering who lived there.

From Munich, we went to Regernsburg via train with Gruppen Ticket.

At Regernsburg,
For the first time after the starting of the journey,
We cooked something!
It was a very pleasuring lunch with him.
Rice + Chicken with soy sauce (masak kicap xD) + fish nugget + keropok ikan!

Then,
we went for a walk in Regernsburg.

Regernsburg is an old town with many historical site.
For every building there,
there's always a history behind him.

According to Zaid and a proof from history,
Regernsburg was like Malacca,
A port where wars happened.

Regernsburg holds many old building and it was fun to just walk around the town.

There we happened to taste a delicious Apple pie with Vanilla syrup.

And one thing not to be forgotten was Roasted Coconut Juice!

The night,
we met a few of students who currently studying in Germany and have a dinner with them.
Thanks Guys!
